So we have been trying to get a brand new shop built pretty much ever since we got back from Du Quoin. Unfortunately due to lender delays and builder delays and just taking our time to make sure we build what we want the first time, we haven’t even broken ground yet.

To put it bluntly, it stinks.

The Mustang has become the bane of my yard duty, having to be pushed out of the way to mow once a week. Other than that, she’s just sat there pouting, waiting for a new home.

To make matters worse, my buddy Rich Gebhardt is chomping at the bit to get after it, with a convenient slot in his build schedule to get her up on the frame table sooner rather than later.

What to do…what to do?

Well I will tell what we decided to do: we decided to rip into the thing today. If felt good to start pulling the thing apart and get it ready for a trip to Illinois next weekend. The whole family got involved, which was the plan from the start. So far we got the interior gutted and the trunk emptied out, as well. I also managed to pull the hood and get started pulling the engine and tranny. I need to pick up a hoist tomorrow, but I should be able to get it all yanked out and ready to roll by the weekend. We hope you enjoy the pics!

So far so good! Tune in next time as I get the engine and transmission pulled out redneck style in the yard.
